Abstract

This study focuses on understanding the influence of social factors on construction workers' safety behavior using agent-based modeling. It addresses the gap in research regarding the psychological mechanisms behind the connection between social influence and safety behavior in the construction industry. The study employs Ajzen's Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) and integrates Social Identity Theory (SIT) to explain how group norms and organizational identities affect safety behavior. The model simulations explore the effects of different safety management policies, such as the strictness of safety rules, frequency of managers' feedback, and stimulation of project identification. The results demonstrate that a combination of these factors can positively impact workers' safety behavior. The study highlights the importance of considering social norms and identities in enhancing safety behaviors within construction projects.

본 연구는 행위자 기반 모델링을 이용하여 사회적 요인이 건설 작업자의 안전행동에 미치는 영향을 탐색하고 효과적인 안전행동 개선 방안을 마련하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이는 사회적 요인과 작업자 안전행동 사이의 심리적 메커니즘에 부족한 지식의 격차를 해소하는 데 기여할 것으로 기대된다. 행위자 기반 모형은 계획적 행동이론(theory of planned behavior)와 사회정체성 이론(social identity theory)을 통합하여 그룹 규범과 조직 정체성이 안전행동에 미치는 영향을 모델링하였다. 기존 연구와의 질적 비교를 통해 개발된 모형을 검증하고 시뮬레이션 실험을 통해 관리자 안전 규칙의 엄격함, 피드백 빈도, 프로젝트 정체성 자극과 같은 다양한 안전 관리 정책이 작업자 안전 행동에 미치는 효과를 탐색한다. 시뮬레이션 실험의 결과는 이러한 요소들의 적절한 조합이 근로자의 안전 행동에 긍정적인 영향을 미칠 수 있음을 보여주며, 건설 작업자의 안전 행동 개선을 위해 그룹 규범과 정체성을 고려하는 것이 중요하다는 점을 강조한다.
